What is TABConf?
TABConf is an event focused on building the Bitcoin community, providing education, and supporting developers. We aim to be an inclusive, organic, grassroots conference for Bitcoin.
Michael Tidwell and Brandon Iglesias saw an opportunity to further Bitcoin education in Atlanta by bringing great minds together — a stress-free, low-cost conference that delivered real value.
In 2018, the first TABConf was held at General Assembly in Ponce City Market. Tickets for the one-day event were $10. Within a week, 210 tickets sold out and the venue was overbooked — setting the trajectory for Bitcoin in Atlanta.
By 2019, the conference had grown to 500+ attendees at Georgia State University, with four ballrooms running simultaneously so people could choose the content that fit them.
After 2020 threw curveballs for everyone, TABConf returned in 2021 with a sharper focus on attendees and the broader Bitcoin development community. Borrowing from DEF CON’s village model, TABConf introduced Villages — space for individuals, groups, and communities to run their own programming. TABConf also pledged to donate a percentage of ticket proceeds to support Bitcoin development.
